Yes! The core grid generator is 100% free forever. No signup, no credit card, no hidden fees.

Can I use the generated code in commercial projects?

Absolutely! The code you generate is yours to use however you like - personal projects, commercial work, client sites, anything.

What's the difference between Grid and Flexbox?

My grid isn't working. What should I check?

Common issues:

Spaces vs commas: Use spaces to separate values (e.g., 1fr 1fr not 1fr, 1fr)
Missing units: Use 200px not just 200
Browser support: CSS Grid works in all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
Use our Grid Detective tool to check for errors!

How do I save my layouts?

Use the Save section in the generator. Enter a name and click "Save". Your layouts are stored in your browser's localStorage and will persist between sessions.

Does Gridlock Holmes work on mobile?

Yes! The site is fully responsive. However, for the best experience creating grids, we recommend using a desktop or tablet with a keyboard.

We take your data protection rights seriously. If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, cookies, or privacy, you can raise a complaint using the process below.

How to raise a data protection complaint

Email your complaint
Send details of your concern to jon.ellisdon@gridlock-holmes.com with the subject line "Data Protection Complaint". Include your name, what data you believe is affected, and what action you would like us to take.

We acknowledge within 7 days
We will confirm receipt of your complaint and let you know who is handling it.

Full response within 28 days
We will investigate your complaint and respond with a full explanation of our findings, any action we have taken, and your options if you remain unsatisfied. If the matter is complex, we may extend this to a maximum of three months, but we will inform you within the first 28 days if this is necessary.

Your rights include: access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your data, objection to processing, withdrawal of consent, and data portability. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Formal data subject requests (such as access, deletion, or correction requests under UK GDPR) will be responded to within one calendar month, as required by law.
